Lynn was born in Williamson, West Virginia, and graduated from Marshall University with honors and a BA in Education. In 1973, she moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, married Dr. Russell A. Salton III, and they have two adult children. Her daughter, Sarah Salton, graduated from Campbell Law School and works with her at HM Properties. Together they are "The Salton Team" and are able to provide their clients top–notch service because they are able to be in two places at once.
