Valerie has over 11 years of experience in residential real estate and has been a consistent Top Producer each year. In 2006, she decided it was time to turn her dream of owning her own real estate company into a reality. That August, Valerie and her business partner, Patty Hendrix, founded HM Properties.

Valerie was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and spent most of her childhood in New Jersey before relocating to North Carolina in 1986. She is a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts in English with honors. Prior to her real estate career she owned a company called TextWorks which provided documentation and training materials for the banking industry. She sold this company in 1998, embarked her career in real estate and quickly became a well-known Top Producer.

She has two boys: Calvin (15) and Spencer (12) who attend Charlotte Latin School. Her interests include cooking, traveling, writing, and watching professional sports. A season ticket holder of Bobcats and Panthers, she enjoys attending these games and spending quality time with her children and Bailey, her purebred German Shepherd.
