Susan vibrant personality is what draws so many people to her. She truly loves working with her clients. She is a Carolina girl at heart and was born in Shelby, North Carolina, which is just west of Charlotte. After graduating from Meredith College she was hired as a buyer for Belk in Durham. A few years later, she moved to Charlotte and taught marketing in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system. After taking some time to raise her children and volunteering time throughout the community, she went back to work as an Account Executive with Spangler & Associates Advertising.

In 2003, Susan earned her real estate license and was hired as a Broker at Bissell-Hayes Realtors which later merged with another company in 2009. A year later, she joined HM Properties.

Susan is married and has two adult children. Her daughter is currently enrolled in Duke University's MBA program and her son graduated from the University of North Carolina's MBA program in 2010. She also loves animals and has a Cockapoo named Theodore Roosevelt (aka: Teddy). In her spare time, she enjoys playing golf and reading.
